VS:
My mother began her Real Estate career back in the 90's before MapQuest, navigation systems etc. I became her assistant with property showings by reading the map for directions, helping with lockboxes, and even looking through the listing books which you had to pick from various Real Estate offices. From this experience, I fell in love with Real Estate. I saw firsthand helping to make the dream of home ownership become true.

Q: How long have you been active in Real Estate?
VS:
I have been active in Real Estate for over 17 years and Owner/Principal Broker of Slater Signature Homes for the past three years. We currently have 15 agents that are with the Slater Signature Homes Team.

Q: Can you share with our audience what Buyers & Sellers can expect when they work with you?
VS:
Buyers and Sellers can expect transparency, communication, and my honest opinion on their real estate transaction. I strive to make the home buying and selling experience for my clients as smooth as possible.

Q: If we interviewed all your past clients … what is one common word that comes up when they describe working with you?
VS:
If you interviewed all of my past clients, one common word to describe working with me would be “Honest”.

Q: Can you tell our audience one of your most memorable moments your career?
VS:
I have had several memorable moments throughout my career, but I will have to say one was helping a Veteran purchase his first home. The client had rented for over 50 years and decided to purchase his first home.

Q: What’s one lesson you’ve learned in your career that you can share with our audience?
VS:
One lesson I have learned is nothing is more important than your health. You have to take of “You” before you can take care of your business and family.

Q: Which woman inspires you and why?
VS:
I would have to say my mother, Cheryl Harris. My mother is one of the strongest women I know. She showed me throughout my life when you work hard then the sky is the limited to what you can achieve. She has inspired me to be the best version of myself.

Q: What advice would you give to young women who want to succeed in the workplace?
VS:
Advice that I would give young women in the Real Estate business is to stick with it. The first couple years can be very difficult as an agent with building your client base and getting to the closing table. The most important thing is communicating from start to finish with your client, mortgage officers, inspectors, agents, and all parties involved in the transaction.
